Fox My Box

Fox My Box is a pioneering company, known for its, customer-centric approach to customizing high-end electronic products. The company offers bespoke customization services for a wide array of premium brands including Apple, Dyson, Logitech, Sony, Sennheiser,  and Shure.

Each customization involves carefully disassembling, sanding and painting the products with the highest quality paints.

Fox My Box deeply understands that individuality is essential to its customers, and the company provides personalized services that showcase and elevate each client’s distinct style and vision.

WORK IN PROGRESS

 

Creating a 60s ad in 15 days was a challenging task and I was the sole designer leading this project.

Following the timeline, I started researching Apple’s advertising style, as well as other 3D design projects, to get inspiration for lighting and composition.

I came up with the concept to showcase the journey of three AirTags rolling out from an iFuture store where one of the AirTag comes into our workshop for customization.

I began sketching a storyboard to map out the composition and animation references for the ad. Given the small size of the AirTags, I chose to create a miniature world around them as an art direction choice to make them appear larger than life. To maintain the product’s integrity, I used a focal length between 100-300mm, which accurately captured the curvature of the AirTags, avoiding the distortions that smaller focal lengths could introduce.

Once the storyboards were in place, I chose Cinema 4D to execute this project. Its powerful, user-friendly interface and the Mo-Graph system allows for the creation of complex animations procedurally.

I started setting up the scenes as separate files following the storyboards.

STYLE FRAMES

 

I used HDRIs as the main light source for the scenes. For some of the scenes I used area and infinite lights to accentuate certain parts of the product and add specular highlights to accurately show the difference between gloss and matte finish.

I rendered out style frames that helped me fine tune the lighting and composition before I proceeded to animate the scenes.


RESULT

When we delivered the final ad to iFuture, the client was impressed by the quality of our work. To maximize the impact of the campaign, we went a step further by creating shorter, repurposed snippets optimized for social media and digital marketing. This proactive approach paid off significantly, as the campaign proved to be a major success. 

Within just two weeks of its launch, website traffic surged by 50%, and sales of our aftermarket customizations rose by 28%. Following the success of the campaign, iFuture officially partnered with Fox My Box for the customization of AirPods and AirPods Pro.
